Joel Atkinson, PTA

Joel Atkinson, PTA, CSCS, is a Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Doctor of Chiropractic candidate dedicated to helping patients achieve lasting recovery and optimal performance. He specializes in complex, dynamic postural conditions that require a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to care.
Joel's treatment philosophy centers on identifying and addressing the root cause of dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms. His approach combines hands-on manual therapy, individualized exercise programming, lifestyle modification, nutritional guidance, and behavioral psychology principles to help patients achieve meaningful, long-term results while minimizing future complications.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sports Medicine from Northwestern State University and completed his Physical Therapist Assistant training at CBD College in 2023. Joel is currently pursuing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Southern California University of Health Sciences, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2028.
In addition to being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2015, Joel has completed advanced training in cognitive and behavioral psychology, nutrition, manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic taping.
A Southern California native, Joel was raised in Mission Viejo and San Clemente. His extensive background in athletics and performance training includes competing as an NCAA Division I baseball player, earning both All-American and Academic All-American honors. Throughout his career, he has accumulated over 8 years of sports performance development and coaching experience, including leadership roles as Chief Operating Officer and Trainer at Redline Athletics in San Juan Capistrano, and as Chief Executive Officer and Head Trainer at Genesis Sports Performance and Physical Therapy. He also worked as a Flexologist at StretchLab before transitioning to physical therapy.
